Zara Matthews (she/her) is a Canadian triple threat actress known for her compelling, earthy performances. After making huge waves in the psychological thriller, Black Conflux, Zara took on the iconic role of feisty ingénue Christine Canigula in the Tony Award Winning Musical, Be More Chill. Following an appearance at TIFF in 2019, she went on to star in SYFY’s SurrealEstate opposite Tim Rozon and Sarah Levy. You can also catch her on Citytv’s hit police procedural, Hudson & Rex, as Justina Capaldi/Tour Guide. Zara is a graduate of Memorial University (Sociology, Performance & Communications Media) and has performed extensively with theatre companies such as Perchance, TaDa! Events, and Best Kind Productions. Zara also excels as columns editor and podcaster with news and media platform, Zelda Universe. Zara has 5 years’ experience as a qualitative researcher and has published in the fields of public safety, corrections, and public health/pharmacy. She is currently studying Criminology at Memorial and Life Coaching with Rhodes Wellness Vancouver. Zara is passionate about helping clients overcome obstacles to their personal and professional goals. She believes in the importance of developing a powerful mindset for long-term growth and success.
